Security problems of banking equipment are not decreasing




Recently, USA officers have revealed the biggest theft of payment card data during the whole history of the country. 11 criminals from different states illegally embezzled more than 40 million of payment card numbers, PIN codes and account information.

As the international company KPMG has reported, in the first half of this year the courts of the United Kingdom have initiated 128 cases concerning similar crimes. Loss amount of such crimes has reached up to 630 mln pounds. These are the greatest losses to have been suffered by the banks of the country in the result of similar crimes during the last 20 years.

Alike tendencies are observed in other countries of the world as well. As a result of increasing globalization, card data thefts assume the international character, crimes become more complicated and inflict the growing harm on the whole system of international finance.

With the intent to discuss the methods of the fight against such crimes, prevention means and share the experience with the specialists of this field, the international conference “ATM security. One step ahead the fraud” will take place on the 25-26th of September in Vilnius.

Legal officers, software creators, scientists and representatives of the financial institution from the United Kingdom, Russia, Belarus, Macedonia, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania will take part in the conference.
