Resent study shows that skimming related ATM fraud losses increased by 40%. At the same time growing demand for anti-fraud software can be seen.
“Sales of our multivendor ATM surveillance system ATMeye have increased almost 25 percent over last year and the first quarter of this year is even better. The biggest increase was in the markets where ATMs are not EMV-compliant”, says Karolis Macionis software sales director of Lithuanian company “Penkiu Kontinentu Bankines Technologijos” (BS/2).
According to him, this year more ATMeye installations are made within all major trends of ATMs – NCR, Diebold, and Wincor Nixdorf as the system is absolutely multivendor. Till the end of the first quarter 2008 there were more than 21 000 installations in 60 countries in total.
Video surveillance system ATMeye solves vandalism problems, conflicts and fraud cases at the ATMs by capturing snapshots and storing video details of customers, vandals etc which are using or attempting to defraud the ATM.
ATMeye integrates the visual information with the internal ATM application. This allows the images to be efficiently sorted, searched and selected by the user and brought to an end the searching of hundreds of video cassettes or huge digital video archives.
