Lithuanian technologies in LebanonThe "Penki kontinentai" group from Lithuania acknowledged for its technological solutions has affiliated with new partners from Lebanon, the country of the Near East. The central bank of Beirut became the client of the "Penki kontinentai". Lebanon is the eastern Mediterranean country known as the paradise for tourists. Plenty of natural wonders and worthy historical heritage attract hundreds of tourists from all over the world. In deep autumn or forward spring one can indulge in downhill skiing, but having descended the hill one can enjoy lying in the sun or swimming in the warm sea. This is the country of contrasts in every single aspect. The former French colony is the only Christian country in the Arabian world. In the meantime Christians make up 40 percent of its entire population. The capital of Lebanon is Beirut. It is one of the oldest cities in the world. The deep-rooted traditions and Eastern point of view are consistent with the interest in modern technologies. The bankers are the first to take the initiative in this field. The results for 2006 show that there are over 60 commercial banks functioning in the country the population of which is like that of Lithuania. The actives of the banks is more than 62 billion USD. The central Lebanon bank is the main bank of the country. Its importance is signified by the writing of the name of the bank, Banque du Liban, on the Lebanese banknotes – pounds and piastres. Its customers are the citizens of the country. For someone from the West it looks very odd that the bank personnel is made up purely of men, whose professional skills are unquestionable. Large amounts are handled as a pack of cards by an experienced croupier. The solutions and production of the "Penki kontinentai" is supplied to 58 countries of the world. Entering the Lebanese market is by no means accidental. In the meantime the company works in cooperation with more than ten companies fro Asia. The cooperation will be effected through the mediation of the "Timer group". This company is the representative office of the "Wincor Nixdorf" In Lebanon. The President of the company is John Timer. He is actually the founder of the company. Last week the specialist of the "Penki kontinentai", the Project Manager responsible for the automated safes management project, Valerijus Pankratenko, visited Lebanon. The colleagues from the exotic Eastern country were shown how to handle the Lithuanian products, e. g. the "Smart Safe" system. Source: Penki.lt | All NewsPages:
